i remember clear as day how so many of my former coworkers would actually find it humorous that they themselves acquired clients by taking the very vulnerable information that people shared with them and turning it back around against those people to guilt them into buying an exercise plan.

it’s all so predatory. especially right now when so much emphasis is placed on appearance and “youth” and longevity and a false sense of wellness. if i see another diet pill commercial i might just spontaneously combust on the spot
after having been a personal trainer and learning that it’s just a glorified sales position, i can so rapidly clock now when someone is making a sales pitch and it’s honestly so fucking disturbing, as an adult, to see how many other adult human beings are satisfied with a life where they “earn” money by emotionally manipulating innocent people who actually need professional help (whether physically, mentally, legally, whatever)
